Edison Dem Council Campaign 2015 du Coupe - Silence is Golden!

Well, all is quiet in Downtown Edison with an election just a month or so away. By this time we should of been bombarded with the Local Dems usual negative opposition flyers and, of course, their side's glowing, glossy and expensive flyers where the truth within is always an anomaly.

Now, don't get me wrong. There's no way that Not receiving any of their material keeps me up at night and, in fact, it actually saves me on garbage bags. So, not complaining here. Seems they must think that they already have the election won with their Band of Dem Party Line Groupies, so why not save some money and try and make Dem Party Chair Keith Hahn look bad to boot.

But hey, there's still time left, so let's see if we can't help them out with some more Campaign Bumper Stickers, some old favorites and some new:

Not 4 Dems below 08820

All 4 - 1 - 7 - 4 - 08820

Vote NO for 08820

Vote for Rob:
 - Run Rob Run - on Rob's Rear Bumper, on Bob's Front Bumper!?!

 - why make him change sides again!?!

 - he'll stabilize taxes..his own!?!

 - he's Karazmatic..in his own mind!?!

 - change you can believe in..from an incumbent!?!

 - what could he possibly do right!?!

 - he pinches pennies but takes your dollars!?!

 - he's a Whiner..oops, typo, a Winner!?!

 - he'll make a Mean Face if you Don't!?!

 - help him be all for himself!?!

Anyhoo, like to kid around a lot with my friends in the EDO but hey, why not - they've been treating us like a joke for years!

PS: if there are future mailings to the residents here in Downtown Edison, please let me request again - please, please, pretty please make sure you skip my address.

2015-16 Goals du Mythomania!?!

Really? Here we go again over there on Mythomania Lane. Up for vote at the Board's September 21st Action meeting-a-mundo were the District/Super Merit Goals for the 2015-16 School Year. Once again, it's disconcerting to see them rise to the level of mediocrity. How hard is it to write a well thought out and comprehensive set of goals that address the immediate and long term needs of a school district our size - without all the silly content, ambiguity and hyperbole?

If you’re a Board Candidate for one of the 3 open spots this November and You don’t See what’s wrong with the Direction this Board is going in with these less than substantive and sophomoric goals, then You really don’t deserve to be on the Board. We have enough Board Members who actually think this stuff is good.

Seriously, these are most important issues and challenges facing the Board of Mythomania in 2015-16? Hardly think so.

Goal # 1 - "By March 1, 2016, create a written curriculum for grades 1-12 physical education program.."

Goal # 2 – Develop and implement district monthly parent programs in all school for the 2015-16 school year that will focus on meeting district goals.

Goal # 3 – Prepare a written analysis and recommendations for the Board of Education by January 30, 2016 comparing the costs, savings, advantages and disadvantages of changing from the present contracting bus transportation system to a district-owned system.

Goal # 4 – Complete the final phase of the 1:1 initiative, addressing grades 9-12, so the entire district is provided with a digital tool that will benefit them by transforming to digital learning and promoting personalized online training.

And here's another tad bit of a concern - since the Board takes these goals and turns them into Criteria for Super Dr. Richard "Looking for the Exit Ramp" O'Malley's Merit Bonus - does that mean that someone can actually take these less than meaningful and sophomoric goals and turn them into objective quantitative and qualitative criteria for his merit bonus? Can't wait to see that when it's available.

There's more but I'm beginning to bore myself with their repetitive silliness when it comes to Board Goals and Merit Bonuses. But I do like the term "Monthly Parenting Program" - it's hilarious. Nothing like taking a captive audience, calling them into a meeting and then asking them to vote on how good the meeting was! That should score high for the Board and O’Malley.

Anyhoo, here's the Board of Mythomania’s Goals for the School Year 2015-16:

A BIG DUH!

Super Dr. Richard 'Looking for the Exit Ramp' O'Malley hits the Jackpot!?!

Well, looks like the Board of Mythomania awarded Super O'Malley $16,720 (though the Merit Goal Submission Forms for 2014-15 I have only add up to $14,630 but who's counting) in Merit Bonuses for the 2014-15 School Year. Apparently, he achieved and got credit for 100% of his goals, Plus one that wasn't even there in 2014-15 - not bad for someone who only achieved 25% of the board's goals for 2013-14.

Got to like that Safe Haven Contract, which traded salary for bonuses:

Anyhoo, so much for the Super Salary Cap to protect the taxpayers here in Downtown Edison.

Here's the Board Approved resolution:

Welcome back Phil Labasi to Downtown Edison!

Just saw this Letter to the Editor here by Phil Labasi in Tap into Edison dated August 20, 2015. A former 3-term Edison BoE member, he offers advice for evaluating Edison BoE Candidates.

He talks about his goal, while a board member, of directing funding to educating students while avoiding waste. He talks about how he tried to be fiscally responsible by posing a simple question - 'How does this improve education and what is the tax impact?'

He points out some of his achievements and failures in controlling costs - and how he is going to look to how specifically (candidates) they will be fiscally responsible.

As he says, 'Being fiscally intelligent translates into more money for educating our students.'

Good advice and worth a read if you haven't seen it.

I remember Phil Labasi when he was on the board back then and he was a fighter for fiscal responsibility. A person who truly fought for the kids but never simply at taxpayers expense.

Anyhoo, nice to see you back in Downtown Edison Senior Phil!

Hahn 1 0 Russomanno - for the Ga-Zillionth Time!?!

Well, just saw this piece here in the SL and really - isn't it time for Russomanno to just fade away into the EDO's recycle bin?

While I recognize that he was elevated to the Chairmanship of the Edison Council Campaign ticket for 2015 (by coupe of course), a position normally held by the Local Dem Party Chair but seriously...it's embarrassing to watch this stuff go on.

Seems a tad bit abnormal even in Downtown Edison where the abnormal is now the normal, thanks to the party that made Edison safe for hypocrisy.

But hey, what do I know. Seems the face of the Local Dem Party has become a tad bit mean-spirited these days but maybe that's what it takes to get this guy elected:

You remember Rob 'March on Trenton' Karabinchak - whose performance on the council is only over-shadowed by his openness to ideas other than his own and, of course, his charming personality.

Anyhoo, in the words of Mark Twain - 'It's never wrong to do the right thing.' - So, do the right thing for the People of Edison and send these people packing.

Edison BoE Candidates - Nov. 2015

Well, here we go again. Thanks to the Board of Mythomania's decision to move the school board elections to November and take away your right to vote on the single largest hit to your property tax bill here in Downtown Edison - there are 9 candidates running for the Board's 3 open spots, with Margo Harris and Lora Fong not seeking re-election.

Here are the 9 Candidates:

Deborah A. Anes (Incumbent)

William Araujo

Richard Brescher

Ralph Errico

Hollie A. Gilroy

Dennis R. Pipala

Shivi Prasad-Madhukar

Deborah Schildkrant

Kiel Thoms

As I did last year, any Candidates who wish to use this forum to make their case to the people of Edison are welcome to do it. Just drop me a note and I'll do my best to accommodate you.

Anyhoo, we could use some board members who not only look out for the Students & Staff but for the Taxpayers too - you know, the ones who pay the bills for the Out-of-Control $pending that goes on over there on Mythomania Lane.
