What's up with this?!? Did the Edison 'Clowncil' just let 'Mr. Shrink-flation' Raise his own salary?!?

 Not for nothing but on February 10, 2022, Mayor Sam 'Mr. Shrink-flation' Joshi's salary was $49,000 (the same as Former Mayor Lankey's when he left office) but on June 28,2022 his salary is now $75,000.

Who approved that increase from $49,000 to $75,000? Didn't see any Council ordinance increasing the Mayor's salary to $75,000.

Did he just decide to increase his own pay?

And if the 2022 $150m 2022 Muni-budget indicates the Mayor's salary could go as high as $150,000 - when is Council President Joe 'the Florist' Coyle, aka Mayor fo Clara Barton going to produce an ordinance for this amount of a change to support the numbers in this budget?

Seems to me that the People of Edison have a right to know and have a say in what our elected officials make here in the 'DemBadLands' of Downtown Edison. 

Anyhoo, who doesn't like having a 'Clowncil' who sits by quietly and lets the Mayor unilaterally Raise his own salary?

 10. Because you like having a Council that forgoes Checks & Balances to loyally support an inexperienced, undemocratically hand-picked puppet of the Dem-party Powers that Be from Outside of Town.

Edison 2022 3rd Qtr. Estimated Property tax bills are out

 Well, haven't seen mine yet but I'm told these 3rd Qtr. Estimated Poverty tax bills are out now. Based on what I'm told, here's my understanding of what it represents. Seems odd though that they're putting out 'Estimated' Property tax bills when the 'Edison Clowncil' just adopted the 2022 Muni-budget with Mayor Sam 'Mr. Shrink-flation' Joshi's Ridiculous tax increases in place last week.

So, be that as it may, what do we know and can figure out so far about our Property tax bill for 2022:

We can figure out that this Estimate during a raging inflation comes with a Total Property tax rate of $5.923, which is up 2-cents over last year's $5.903. They still find a way to unnecessarily tax you even under the worst possible conditions.

If you live in that imaginary home assessed at $181,400, then your 2022 Property taxes taxes will increase by $36.28. If you don't live in that imaginary home, then just take you home's assessed value divided by 100 and multiply it by $5.923 to get your total property taxes and by .02-cents to get your property tax increase. You can also use the calculator below to get your numbers.

• We know the Muni tax for 2022 is $1.402, which is up 1.4-cents or 1.101% over last year's $1.388.
• We know the Library tax for 2022 is $.086, which is up .004-cents or 4.9% over last year's $.082.
• We know the School tax is $3.197 for 2022, which is down 3.1-cents or -0.96%. Recognize they still increased their Total Budget $pending but took advantage of an increase in the Ratables to get this decrease. We also know the School Board could of reduced the School tax levy by $ 2 million in the School Budget for 2022-23 and give the taxpayers a break but chose Not to. They continue on with their Hoarding ways.
• We don't know what the County tax, County Open Space tax, Muni Open Space tax or the Garbage Dist. 3 taxes are in the Estimated tax bill. But we do know that the combination of all these taxes comes with an increase of 3.3-cents. Will have to OPRA the individual rates to get this information.

What this 2022 3rd Qtr. Estimated Property tax bill means to You:

Anyhoo, keep in mind this estimated bills they put out are subject to change and if there are any changes - it will be reflected in your 4th Qtr tax bill.

Mayor Sam 'Mr. Shrink-flation' Joshi's $158 million Pig of a Budget - Expect the Council to turn a blind eye to the Outrageous $pending

 Well, after last night's Council worksession, it hard not to shake your head and wonder what the heck is wrong with these people. A blatantly lame attempt to block public scrutiny into an inexperienced administration by the Edison Council.

It's not only an embarassment to watch but the Lack of Checks & Balances and Transparency you can expect to see from the Council with Mayor Sam 'Mr. Shrink-flation' Joshi's stewardship.

This undoubtedly will be demonstrated again with their adoption of Mr. Shrink-flation's Ridiculous $158 million Muni budget for 2022 with its Out of Control and Self-Serving $pending that comes with Unnecessary Tax Increases in both the Muni and Library taxes (you can see how this Muni budget for 2022 effects your taxes in a previous post).

Here's just a sample of the excesses - the Administraton Salaries, which more than doubles last year:

Since when is it our responsibility to pay exorbitant amounts for the political operatives they have to surround him with just so he does what he's told and to make sure he doesn't run the town off the rails?

Don't expect this Council to do anything but adopt this Ridiculous $158 million Muni budget for 2022. They have already demonstrated in last night's meeting who they really represent and have now elevated themselves to totally useless in serving the public interest here in Downtown Edison.

About the only unanswered question is which one of Mr. Shrik-flation's Council cronies with be assigned the dubious task of of trying to put lipstick on this pig of a budget with a bunch of useless hyperbole that can quickly be challenged by anyone just with a simple look at the budget itself.

Most likely it won't be the Council Leadership. I'm sure they wouldn't have a clue of what's even in this budget and wouldn't want to be the one to explain and defend it - more likely it'll be one of the newbies given a set of talking points ignoring the obvious deficiencies.

After last night's Council performance and in anticipation tomorrow night's Council meeting let's recognize the Council for what it is - useless:

Anyhoo, at least we're comforted in the knowledge that the only supporting documents this Administration claims to have to support their ridiculous numbers in this budget - is the budget itself.
