Edison Mayor Lankey's 2021 Budget Presentation - blah..blah..blah - taxes Up again!

Well, seems it's the same old, same old attempt to justify unnecessary tax increases from over there at 100 Oligarchy Blvd.

As you can see from the July 19th post, there used a total property tax rate of $5.908 for the 3rd Qtr. Estimated Property tax bills. That estimate assumed a 5.9-cent or 1.01% increase over last year. Of course, waiting almost 8 months to come out with a budget kind of makes this whole bogus budgeting process meaningless.

Be that as it may, here's the breakdown by taxing entity they used:

The school tax in 2021 is up 6.2-cents or 1.96%. The Muni tax in 2021 is up 4.9-cents or 3.65%. The Library tax in 2021 is down .005-cents or -5.75%. The total Muni and Library tax is up 4.4-cents or 3.07%. The county tax and open space tax is down .047-cents or -4.55%. The Garbage District 1 tax is flat at .22-cents.

Of course, this can still change - keep an eye on your 4th Qtr. tax bill to see if they slipped in anymore increase like they did last year.

Seriously, who's gonna buy into a 4.9-cent or 3.65% Muni tax hike this year. And, who doesn't notice the decrease in the County taxes after being ripped off for years with their outrageous increases - particularly last year. There's a level of government that needs to be eliminated. Finally, so much for the promise of No increase in the school tax rate this year.

Anyhoo, some things you should pay attention to - the quest by this one-party oligarchy to try and reinstate the 1-cent Open space tax that the People rejected back in 2018 is coming up again. They want You to tax Yourself 1% in perpetuity so they can waste some more of your money. They'll just go out and bond against it and you'll be stuck paying that off in perpetuity. Who would trust this one-party oligarchy with that kind of money again?

Go back and read the October 23, 2018 post when they first tried to get you to tax yourself in perpetuity by putting it on the ballot. It's a Forever Tax - don't fall for it.

What we really need to do is bring back Wards on the ballot and take the power out of the Local Dem-party's hands and put in back in the hands of the People of Edison. The representation needs to be closer to the People of Edison than it is to the Politically corrupt Local Democratic Party. It's our only shot at bringing an end to the politically corrupt management of this town that has gone on for way too long.

Edison 3rd Qtr. Estimated Property Tax Bills are out - $5.908 (Per 100), which is up 5.9-Cents or 1% over last year

 Well, here are the rates used to generate the Edison 3rd. Qtr estimated tax bills:

County .910, County Open Space .075 - School 3.228 - Muni 1.393, Library .082 and Garbage District 1 tax .220 for total of 5.908.

County taxes are down 4.7-cents or 4.55%, School taxes are up 6.2-cents or 1.96%, Muni tax is up 4.9-cents or 3.65% and the Library tax is down .005-cents or -5.75%.

Of course these numbers are subject to change in the 4th quarter once the remaining budgets are finalized.
