State School Aid - 2015-16

Just saw the amount of state aid for the 2015-16 school year up on the NJDOE's website. Seems the aid is basically flat to last year and have extracted the aid by county and district below.

By County:
Middlesex County by District:
But hey, just you don't wonder what ever happened to the promise Rob 'March on Trenton' Karabinchak made to march on down to Trenton with Emil 'Do the Right Thing' Ferlicchi to get us our fair share of state aid?!? Guess they got caught in traffic!

Anyhoo, looks like the Board of Mythomania will have to dig into their hoarded reserves, exceptions to the 2% cap and cap banks to keep up the out-of-control $pending - or they can just cut out all the discretionary $pending. Nah, who am I kidding - FEED ME!

It's Budget time here in Downtown Edison - get your money ready!

Well, it's that time of the year again when everyone is scurrying around (on both sides of town) to come up with how much more money they'll want you to cough up in their budgets for this year's property tax bills.

Last I heard, the Board of Mythomania is having a 2015-16 school budget presentation at their caucus meeting next week, where Super Dr. Richard 'Looking for the Exit Ramp' O'Malley will unveil his latest bloated offering to the public. Unfortunately, it doesn't really matter what you think since they moved the elections to November and you don't get to vote on the base school budgets anymore. As long as they stay under the 2% cap, they can continue to add 2% every year to those already bloated buckets of money they call a budget. And don't be surprised if you see increases beyond 2% - don't forget about all the exceptions to the '2%' cap!

But hey, it's always entertaining to watch Senor O'Malley explain any numbers. Here's a guy that shouldn't be allowed around any numbers. In the words of Rodney Dangerfield - 'He really tells it like it ain't.'

Just a reminder on last year's school budget - it totaled $217.0 million with a school tax levy of $192.3 million and a school tax rate of $2.733 (per 100). You can see that budget and all those numbers in previous posts.

Pay attention to what goes on over there on Mythomania Lane and see where that school tax rate goes. It's still your money - even though they took your right to vote away.

I'm sure you'll want to see the Board rewarding themselves with more money to $pend after their latest year's performance:

Moving on to Mayor Tom '8%' ChoiLankey's 'DemBadLands.' You remember him - ran on a campaign of stabilizing taxes here in Downtown Edison and, once in office, immediately raised the sewer tax by 35% and 50% for residents and commercials, respectively and then threw in a whopping 8% increase in the Muni-tax rate on top of that and let's not even get into the the amount of debt he created.

Just a reminder in 2014, he took the Muni-tax rate up to $1.205 (per 100), which was an increase of 8.9 Cents or 8% with that tax ambush. That resulted in 59% of last year's total tax increase of 15 Cents (municipal, county & school) going into the township's coffers.

So, what's in store this year from Mayor ChoiLankey & his 'Fresh Start Tour' entourage in the 'DemBadLands?' Another tax ambush to continue funding the township coffers? Hey, at least we have Rob 'March on Trenton' Karabinchak looking out for us. He said he doesn't support another tax increase from Senor Lankey!?! That should help - make you laugh, that is.

Let's hear it for another potential round of tax increases from the Party that made Edison Safe for Hypocrisy here in Downtown Edison:

Anyhoo, get ready to cough up some more of your money to fund the Out of Control $pending that can only happen when you empower people who do the same thing to you every year - and you vote them back in office.

Super Dr. Richard 'Looking for the Exit Ramp' O'Malley's Safe Haven Contract Starts!

Hey, you remember Super Dr. Richard 'Looking for the Exit Ramp' O'Malley's Safe Haven Contract given by the Board of Mythomania after he was out looking for another gig - and didn't get it.

Well, it took effect on April 1, 2015 (and wish it was an April Fool's Joke - but it's not) and runs until July 1, 2019. Under this new contract (you can see it in the 1/5/15 post), his current salary of $222,854 drops down to $209,000 on April 1st. But don't be feeling bad for him - he's eligible for a max bonus of 8% this school year and the Board made him eligible for a 7% max bonus.

So, 7% of $209,000 is $14,630 - and added to the $209,000, you get $223,630. Our only hope is that he and the Board do as well achieving their goals as they've done in the past - dismally.

Here's the rough numbers over the life of this contract - read them and weep:

Anyhoo, don't you just like how disloyalty is rewarded with your tax dollars by the Board of Mythomania?!?

Keith Hahn 1 0 Anthony Russomanno - unchecked Dem party political drama gone awry!?!

Just saw this piece in the SL here about the on-going internal feud between EDO Committee members Keith Hahn and Anthony Russomanno in the EDO...and enough already. One called a 'political agitator' and the other a 'Democratic establishment figure' and both township employees.

With all due respect to my friends in the Local Democratic party, if Anthony Russomanno is a top advisor to Doc as stated, then I would respectfully ask that he find himself some new top advisors. This is just embarrassing to the people of Edison.

Anyhoo, kudos to Keith Hahn for challenging something he saw as wrong in the party and for standing firm with the blowback from the party that made Edison safe for hypocrisy.
