Well, just got my 2021 Sewer tax bill and it looks like they are leaving the sewer tax rate flat to last year for Residential users. Take it they're doing the same for Non-Residential users but I don't know.
Last year's Residential rate was .4428 per gallon of water consumed and it's the same .4428 that shows up on this year's Residential bill.
Of course, you have to ask yourself how the sewer tax bills went out for 2021 and there's no Sewer Budget yet to be approved and adopted by the 7 Processing Clerks.
With the last 2 years coming in with a 4.9% sewer tax rate increase across the board, aren't you curious how they got to No increase this year?
And you thought there would be some Checks & Balances over Mayor Lankey's 2021 Sewer Budget.
Seriously, while the sewer tax rate may remain the same as last year - best you check out your usage against last year's usage.
Here's the 2020 Sewer tax rates for both Residential and Non-Residential Users:
Anyhoo, it's an election year and all that but you'd think they at least put out a budget before they billed you.
