Preliminary School Bond Referendum Costs - $191 million!?! - Duh!

Well, just saw this from last night's Board of Mythomania's Caucus Meeting. Don't know what's in the water over there on Mythomania Lane but their Preliminary Costs for the September School Bond Referendum was presented and summarized (badly I might add) in the slide below.

Apparently, they're focusing on the $191 million number for the six schools shown. Of course, take it that these are only preliminary numbers that don't include any state approvals (preliminary eligible and final eligible costs letters), state aid numbers for new additions or renovations, the NJDOE 130's or the bond financing costs as yet.

Approving these numbers on Monday night to send down to Trenton based upon this public presentation is a joke.

But, then again, $191 million is about as ridiculous as one of their Bloated, Pots of Money they call a School budget. Without proper scrutiny, no one in their right mind would buy into such a ridiculously humongous number from a Board that can't be even trusted with scrutinizing a simple school budget.

Looks like from this schedule there will be some serious conversation about these numbers.

Got a request in now to see the detail backup for these numbers (as described above) including the detail cost per square foot estimates used.

Not for nothing but this is what we get after a year and half and numerous Overcrowding Committees?

Board President Jerry 'Needs to Step-down' Shi needs to step-down for a whole bunch of reasons but putting something like this out makes his leadership even more laughable.

Anyhoo, as soon as they release the detail numbers, I'm sure we can have a serious conversation about what they're thinking and what they're doing over there on Mythomania Lane.
